Servicing

Regular servicing is essential to keep your vehicle running at its best and to detect any issues before they become more serious problems. For your safety, that of your passengers, other road users, and for the welfare of the environment, we recommend having your vehicle serviced at least every 12 months. If your vehicle covers a lot of miles, you should consider having it serviced more regularly.

Boam Automotive Engineering Ltd can provide service for your vehicle, regardless of its age, make, or model. We have a fully equipped, newly built workshop specifically designed for all automotive requirements. The service we carry out is virtually the same as your dealer would provide, but at a fraction of the cost.

Our technicians are fully qualified and trained in the latest technology. If we discover any problems or determine that any parts need replacing, we will contact you. We will not carry out any work on your vehicle without your prior consent.

Types of Service

An interim service is ideal for cars that do a lot of miles (generally every six months or 6,000 miles); a full-service is recommended every 12 months or 12,000 miles; a major service is also available for a thorough and comprehensive service of your vehicle, generally every two years.

During a service, we will usually:

  • Drain the engine oil and refill it
  • Replace oil filter, air filter and fuel filter
  • Renew spark plugs if necessary
  • Check the engine, battery and drive system
  • Check your vehicle’s electrics
  • Check the steering and suspension, exhaust system and brakes
  • Check the tyres and wheels
  • Check windscreen wipers and mirrors
  • Check the inside of the vehicle
  • Reset your vehicle’s service light and stamp the service book

At Boam Automotive Engineering Ltd, we use original, quality parts from manufacturers like Bosch, Mann Hummel, and Pagid. These brands manufacture parts for the likes of Audi, BMW, Ford and Peugeot, and you can be sure that we use only the very best branded parts. In fact, the only difference between the parts a dealer uses and the parts we use is the franchise stamp on the box. You can often see the manufacturer’s branding on the part yourself.

What this means for you is an assurance of quality. If your car has a warranty, having it serviced at Boam Automotive Engineering Ltd. will not invalidate your warranty. When your car has been serviced, we stamp your service book, and your warranty stays intact.
